Urban Legend #1: Embarrassing Wrong Bible Verse on Wedding Cake

This Urban Legend is about a bride who, in hopes of calming her nerves for her big day, decides she would like to have one of her favorite Bible verses featured on her wedding cake. The verse she chose was 1 John 4:18, which states “There is no fear in love; for perfect love casts out fear." After getting it all settled with the caterer, she gets a call from them a week or so before the wedding to confirm if this is really the verse she wants on her cake. She says yes, but when the day rolls around, she's shocked to find that that was not the verse in her cake. Instead, the cake featured John 4:18, “For you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband.”

Urban Legend #2: Wedding Rings

This Urban Legend just talks about the significance that wedding rings play in our society and all that can go wrong in a marriage if something happens with your wedding ring. This legend states that some believe you should not remove your ring until you have a child, while another states that losing it or breaking it means that your marriage will be broken, versus if you kept your ring and never broke it.

Urban Legend #3: Our First Fight

This Urban Legend talks about the "dark side" of feeding your significant other cake, if you have a cake cutting session at your wedding. It talks about this couple who was arrested at their own wedding for disturbing the peace, because the bride claimed the husband shoved the cake into her mouth too forcefully. This came from a real wedding, a featured story in a 1993 newspaper!
